Femme Power Picks: July 17th!!

Scroll through our recommendations for July 17th's New Comic Book Day, listed below!

This is a pretty nice looking week of comics with several new arrivals, but the big title for us is Sera & the Royal Stars. This new series, from Vault Comics, follows Princess Sera on her quest to find the royal stars on Earth and return them to the heavens. We're excited based on the description alone, but knowing the title is illustrated by the exceptionally talented Audrey Mok makes us that much more so! This week also brings a new Wonder Woman story available in comic shops for the first time. Written by Amanda Conner, Wonder Woman: Come Back to Me #1 finds our favorite Amazonian princess on a rescue mission for Steve Trevor after he is lost in the Bermuda Triangle!

In the world of graphic novels, we are eagerly awaiting the reunion of three of our favorite young heroines in Cheshire Crossing! Alice (from Wonderland), Dorothy (of Oz), and Wendy (of Peter Pan fame) meet at a supernatural boarding school for children with special, world-hopping abilities. But when some familiar villains team up, these three powerful young women must join forces to save not only their three fantastical worlds but also Earth itself! Storybook meets superheroes in this new supernatural fantasy adventure that we can't wait to get our hands on!

The other book we can't wait to read is one that has been on our "must read list" for nearly a year, and unfortunately is as timely as ever and one we believe everyone should read. This poignant story? George Takei's new graphic memoir They Called Us Enemy. The book details George's time in an internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II, beginning when he was just four years old.

We also have some returning favorites this week such as Little Bird, Unstoppable Wasp (both on their final issues!), and so many other Femme Power Comix favorites!

Each title, listed below in alphabetical order, includes cover art and a brief description. To learn more about each title, click on the cover art image and head over to Previews World!
